Question by : What might an insurance company cover with mini ivf?
I understand most insurances do not cover IVF, but i was told that there are ways to have some of the cost covered depending on what codes are used. Can anyone tell me if they’ve encountered this. And help is appreciated. I found a doctor in my area and 1 cycle of mini ivf is approximately $ 6000. If my insurance can maybe cover any part of that….office visits, ulta sounds,it would be great. Please help!

What in the world is “mini IVF”??? Your reproductive endocrinologist/fertility office will be able to check your insurance and find out what may or may not be covered. You can also check your policy. There are VERY few insurance policies that will cover IVF, however, you may be able to appeal their decision to deny their claim if you have certain medical conditions pertaining to the IVF. Also, I would recommend having anything that can be done at your regular physician or OBGYN’s office instead of the fertility clinic. Many times the insurance company will see that the procedure was done by a fertility doctor and automatically deny the claim. Have ultrasounds, blood work, etc done through your regular doctor. Hope that helps!
