Question by Spice: IVF..Insurance?
What type of insurance covers the cost for IVF?
Best answer:
Answer by Doodlestuff
Health insurance. It depends on the policy, company and the state. For instance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield will pay for a limited amount of IVF with an individual policy in my state, but many employers have axed it in their policies because employees don’t want to pay more for their insurance. Blue Cross/Blue Shield won’t pay for it at all in some states.
BTW, the insurance plan I have won’t cover the meds which is a lot of the cost. Be for you run to purchase this insurance, keep in mind that you have to have the insurance for 18 months before IVF or pregnancy coverage begins. That is to prevent people from just getting the insurance to get that coverage and then dropping it, sticking policy holders with the bill.

We did insemination at home. Couldn’t afford the sperm banks cost. Couldn’t afford the cost of the doctor. Found an e-book. We have 2 boys now.
