How many of you had infertility insurance?

Question by Ashley F: How many of you had infertility insurance?
It has already gotten expensive for testing and whatnot with insurance that does not cover fertility issues. I still have a few rounds of clomid but if they do not work I will be sent to a fertility specialist. It may result in invetro if nothing else works and I know that can be very expensive. How many of you got infertility insurance. How much did it cost and how much did you save?

Pro-lifers: How do you feel about ‘Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis’ (PGD)?

Question by A: Pro-lifers: How do you feel about ‘Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis’ (PGD)?
*When I used the word pro-life I did not mean that people who are pro-choice are anti-life. I simply used that term because the people I am hoping to hear from (people not pro-choice) are commonly identified with the term pro-life.

Is not implanting an embryo into a woman’s uterus just as bad as aborting a could-be child?

If you said that there is a difference, why is there a difference?
I would say the main differences between the embryos is *where* they are, and that one of the embryos had one cell taken out of it. The differences are not extreme.

Just in case some are not familiar with PGD: (Please correct me if I made a mistake in the steps. Thank you :-) )
-Fertility drugs to release several ova
-Collect ova (by a small operation? <--not completely sure how)
-In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
-When the embryos reach the 8 cell stage, one cell is removed from each
-The cell is tested for disease causing alleles
-Implantation of *healthy* (not ones with disease causing alleles) into the uterus

I am asking this because I know some people are against abortion, but are not against PGD. (Though, they may be against abortion because of a mother-child attachment that usually forms, not because they are pro-life).

Thank you for reading this. I appreciate it. :)

I’m against anything that doesn’t end in a late term abortion.
