Question by Courtney M: I’m doing my Senior Research Project on IVF, can anyone help with the insurance/financial aspect of it??
I am a high school senior and an IVF twin, who would love to do well on her Advanced Senior Project…so if there are any comments on the emotional effect of IVF, I can quote them directly. Also if anyone has an oppinion on the age of women going through IVF it would be helpful. Lastly I am having trouble finding good information on health insurance with IVF. Any help would be greatly appreciated : )

IVF was the best decision that we ever made – after years of trying, going through depression after every failed IUI attempt (6 in total) . . . IVF helped us to realize the possibility of a family. I am 20 weeks 6 days pregnant with my own IVF twins. I am 34 and DH is 36 – our diagnosis was unexplained infertility. To women dealing with infertility, I highly recommend additional therapies including acupuncture, counseling and support groups. Conquering Infertility is wonderful book by Dr. Alice Domar and she also has her own center:

As to insurance – it is complicated – it depends on the state you live in or the state that your employer has their headquarters in and gets their insurance from . . . a great site for insurance info is the Resolve website – currently 15 states mandate coverage:
